Spanning the Decades

Train tracks can be seen running down the center of the Tower Bridge in this circa 1949 photograph, which was taken facing west toward Yolo County. The tracks were removed in 1963 because the Sacramento Northern Railway’s rights to operate a rail line over the bridge had expired.
