Veteran TV news anchor team Lois Hart and Dave Walker first hit Sacramento airwaves in the ’70s. The pair left the area in 1980 for CNN, where they co-anchored the first broadcast of the newly developed cable news station. They then moved to CNBC in 1989, co-anchoring that station’s inaugural broadcast. Hart and Walker returned to Sacramento in 1990 and have been at KCRA ever since, these days anchoring the weekday 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. newscasts. (Walker also anchors the 6 p.m. edition.) Viewers enjoy the couple’s on-air chemistry: The two have been voted top TV news anchor team by Sac Mag readers since the category’s debut in 1999. But, alas, all good things must come to an end, including the reign of Lois and Dave. The two, married 29 years this past June, bid adieu to viewers at the end of November.
