Season 4 “Top Chef” contestant Ryan Scott was in Sacramento today for a cooking demonstration.
Scott, who lives in San Francisco, was here to do a healthful-cooking demo for the students at Federico Beauty Institute on Arden Way, where his stepsister is a student. Afterward, he planned to go see his old friend Biba Caggiano and “give her a hug.”
He met the owner of Biba restaurant about six years ago, when he worked at Gary Danko in San Francisco. “She’s a huge inspiration to me,” Scott said.
“Top Chef” fans remember Scott as the cute young chef who got sent packing for making poached pears and panzanella salad for a Chicago Bears tailgate party challenge. “Tailgating in San Francisco is different from tailgating in Chicago,” he laughed.
Since his stint on “Top Chef: Chicago,” Scott has started his own catering company, Ryan Scott 2 Go (www.ryanscott2go.com), and has done some catering in Sacramento. “I travel everywhere,” he said.
