You’d be lucky to get a seat next to G.M. Pucilowski—the Chief Judge for the California State Fair wine competition and certified wine expert. Imagine what you could learn in just ten minutes. . . Well, here’s your chance: “Pooch,” as he’s amicably known, will bring his vast wine knowledge to the public, teaching Wine Tasting 101 classes. Learn how to sip, swish, and spit like a pro aboard the Delta King in Old Sacramento starting this Wednesday, Jan. 13. Some topics on the agenda aside from the basics: food pairing, how to pick a great low/mid/high priced wine, and how to identify different varietals. Classes consist of a wine-paired, five-course dinner.
Classes will be offered throughout the year. For registration and more information, visit the University of Wine website or call Cheryl at (916) 444-8052.

Size of class: Ranges from 20 to 100 students
Price: First three classes are $99 (individual classes are $50 each); fourth class is an optional 5-course dinner (with 12 wines), $99.
