Wine of the Week: Bogle Vineyards' 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon

1987

I am delighted to have discovered Bogle Vineyards’ 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon this week. Soft, round, easy-drinking and very food-friendly, this lovely and inexpensive Cab is an excellent value. If you’re searching for a table wine on which to stock up for a dependable, pleasing mid-week dinner quaff, this wine is worth buying by the case. I savored its gentle black currant/cherry/plum fruitiness, punctuated with an underlying spiciness, and enjoyed the invigorating touch of mintiness in the wine’s long, luxurious finish.
