Wine of the Week: 337 Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon

Lodi is often associated with first-rate Zinfandels, but this week I enjoyed a friendly, approachable Cabernet Sauvignon from the region that would be an excellent “every day” quaff to keep on hand. The 2008 “337” Cabernet, crafted by Noble Vines, has fruit-forward flavors of black currants and ripe blackberries, layered with entrancing hints of blueberry, cinnamon, mocha, and a touch of spicy tobacco on the finish. This medium-bodied red would pair with a wide range of dishes, from lasagna and marinated, grilled flank steak to pork ribs and hearty minestrone soup.
