Foodies: If you’re not a member of Slow Food Sacramento yet, now’s the time to join. The group will be hosting a fun membership potluck on Sunday, September 19th at Southside Park (T & 6th Streets in downtown Sacramento) where you can meet fellow food and farm lovers and “share your ideas for future activities we can embark on together.” The potluck starts at 12 noon, so farmers’ market shoppers can stock up on their week’s goodies before trotting across the street for the lunch festivities. Attendees are asked to bring a “Slow Food appropriate” potluck dish to share, a blanket or chair, plate and serving utensils, and a non-alcoholic beverage. The lunch includes a demonstration by culinary instructor Kathleen Albiani, and organic vegetable gardening expert Alison Harris of Peas and Harmony (www.peasandharmony.net) will share fall planting tips.
