Local Soil Born Farms is hosting an heirloom tomato tasting at their American River Ranch farm stand this Saturday, August 21st. Participants will be able to try the seven varieties the farm grows, and “learn how to use each tomato to its fullest potential.” Farm staff will also have tomato recipes that participants can take home with them. The tasting is from 9am to 1pm.
On Saturday, August 28th, the farm will host a barn dance fundraiser, which includes a potluck dinner, a live band, and square dancing for all. The potluck starts at 6pm, and the party and dancing are from 7pm to10pm. The cost is $10-20 (sliding scale), and all proceeds will benefit Soil Born Farms programs.
