Attention all history buffs and food lovers: You won’t want to miss “A Taste of History,” presented on Saturday, September 25th by Sutter’s Fort, in association with Slow Food Sacramento. This unique evening will feature a four-course, sit-down historic dinner prepared by chefs from several local restaurants, including Spataro, Mulvaney’s B&L and Grange. The meal will highlight “updated” dishes enjoyed at the time John Sutter founded Sutter’s Fort in 1839; and will kick off with a honey tasting by Sacramento Beekeeping and an olive oil tasting by Apollo Olive Oil. The event will also include live acoustic music, local wines, and a special beer brewed especially for the dinner. Guests will go home with a keepsake program which contains a collection of historic recipes and the chefs’ adapted recipes. A Taste of History is a fundraiser for Sutter’s Fort.
