Savor some Suds
The 10th Annual West Coast Brew Fest in Miller Park features unlimited microbrew tastings (over 120 different beers from more than 60 breweries!), live music and food along the Sacramento river. The festival is a fundraiser for the Make-A-Difference Project, a local non-profit organization that strives to improve communities by enhancing civic involvement.

Gawk at Gourds
Appreciate the weird and wild beauty of hard shell gourds at the 7th Annual Gourd Art Festival on Saturday and Sunday. There will be gourd art (yes, there is such a thing), a children’s gourd crafting corner, food and free live music featuring the Putah Creek Crawdads.

Feast on Bar-B-Que and Support Military Families
The Blue Star Moms is a support and service group in the greater Sacramento area – “Moms, Family & Friends united in support of our men and women in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.” The group gathers together “to talk about those we love so much who are serving or have served our country in the military” and offers each other support, understanding and solidarity. The group’s annual Bar-B-Que and Casino Night features a tri-tip, pork and chicken bar-b-que, a poker tournament, silent auction, dancing to a live band, and a salute to our troops.

Revel in Lodi Wine
If you’re a wine lover, don’t miss Saturday’s ZinFest Wine Festival at Lodi Lake. More than 250 wines from 50 Lodi wineries will poured, and festivities include live music, foods prepared by regional purveyors, wine and cooking seminars by notable chefs and sommeliers, and an artisan craft area.

Celebrate All Things Asian
Join the crowds at this year’s Pacific Rim Street Fest, whose focus is to highlight the richness and diversity of many Pacific Rim cultures through cultural programs, entertainment, art and food. Staged by volunteers from more than 15 Asian Pacific community groups, the festival offers a dizzying array of performances, from the thunderous, blood-stirring drumming of Sacramento Taiko Dan and Hmong cultural dancing to Asian comedians and martial art demonstrations. Food includes Chinese, Filipino, Thai and Mongolian delicacies.
