Local restaurateur Terry Harvego was hoping to spend yesterday opening his new restaurant, Ten 22, in Old Sac. But thanks to construction delays, the opening has been pushed back to mid-November. “We’re shooting for Nov. 12,” he says. “That’s our goal. But I’ve learned through this process not to quote an absolute date.”
The restaurant gets its name from its street address: 1022 2nd Street. Harvego chose the original opening date—Oct. 22—in a nod to the name. Ten 22 = 10/22 = Oct. 22. Get it?
According to Harvego, all systems are mostly go. The staff has been hired and is undergoing training. Tables and chairs have been delivered. Once the final construction issue—getting a grease duct out of the building and up to the roof—is ironed out, the kitchen crew will get to work refining the menu, he says.
