Ruth Reichl, the best-selling food author and former editor of Gourmet magazine, will speak at Sacramento’s Crest Theatre March 26 as part of the California Lectures series.
In her speech—entitled Garlic and Sapphires (which also happens to be the title of one her food memoirs)—she’ll talk about her experiences as a food critic. With any luck, she’ll also address the abrupt closure late last year of Gourmet magazine.
Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. lecture are $30 and can be purchased at http://www.californialectures.org/. You can also meet Reichl at a pre-lecture reception at Grange Restaurant in downtown Sacramento. Tickets for the reception will be available in the next week or so. Keep checking the website.
