Porking Out at Pronto


Chris Nestor, chef/owner of Ink Eats & Drinks, had raved to me about the tasty pork at Pronto, so I figured I’d give the Paesanos Pork Scramble a try. Good call! Pronto’s tender braised pork is shredded and scrambled up with eggs, then topped with a dollop of sour cream and habanero pesto. Fresh cilantro kicks this mildly spicy dish into orbit. It comes with nicely crisped house potatoes and choice of toast. (I recommend the multi-grain.)

Adding to the enjoyment factor: Great jazz piping in through the house stereo—perfect for a lazy Sunday morning.

Paesanos Pronto, at 1501 16th St., serves breakfast from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday only.
