A truly unique wine event will be held in Lodi on March 14-15. The Consumer Wine Awards seek to find wines that the average consumer holds above all others.
The competition will be judged by everyday wine drinkers, not wine experts.
If you think you’d make an adequate consumer judge, go to www.consumerwineawards.com and fill out their consumer survey. Rest assured, wine nuts–if you’re feeling sub-par when it comes to your wine jargon, you don’t have to be able to describe the “bouquet” or whether the wine is “fruit-forward” or has legs or not. At the end of the survey, you can simply elect to be considered as a “consumer evaluator.” If selected, you’ll be able to taste dozens of wines and offer your opinion on them all. There’s no cost, and you might just be able to add the job of “wine judge” to your resume. (The submission deadline is February 26th.)
The awards event and tastings will take place at Hutchins Street Square, 125 S. Hutchins St., Lodi, 95240.
