On May 12, Michael Tuohy will bring back his popular Follow the Chef farmers market tour and lunch. Tuohy, the executive chef at Grange Restaurant & Bar, began leading weekly tours of the Wednesday farmers market at Cesar Chavez Plaza last year. He takes small groups around the square, stopping at vendors to discuss what’s in season and buying produce for the restaurant. After the tour, he brings the group back to Grange for a three-course lunch featuring the stuff he just purchased. I attended a tour last year and had a blast. Tuohy knows everybody at the market and actually sources much of the restaurant’s fresh produce from its vendors. I highly recommend Tuohy’s tour, which costs $35 and includes lunch.
