Mall Food Envy

I was in San Francisco on business yesterday and stumbled into the food emporium at the Westfield San Francisco Centre on Market street. Dazzled by the dining options (shoppers can choose amongst a dizzying selection of Korean, seafood, Vietnamese, Mexican and Mediterranean food stalls), I ordered lunch from Coriander Gourmet Thai. Digging into my sugar snap pea and chili-flecked tofu entree (with a side of satisfyingly spicy green curry chicken), I was filled with envy – why don’t Sacramento malls cater to their food-loving shoppers as lavishly? Gorged with my Thai feast, I waddled upstairs and ordered a bag of marzipan-stuffed, dark chocolate-dipped prunes from Cocoa Bella Chocolates. It was easy to justify the calories – who knows when I’ll have an opportunity to visit again?
