Local Writer Advances in Food Blog Contest

Local food blogger Kimberly Morales has advanced to the third round of Project Food Blog, a national contest with a $10,000 prize. Morales, author of Poor Girl Eats Well, is the only local blogger still in the running. The field, which started out with almost 2,000 contestants, has been whittled down to 196. For 10 weeks, bloggers will be given a series of weekly challenges. This week’s: Host a luxury dinner party and write about it. Morales, who blogs about eating “ridiculously well on a minuscule budget,” prepared a four-course, chocolate-themed dinner party for five people that cost $16 a head. Impressive.
