Several local chefs—including Patrick Mulvaney of Mulvaney’s Building & Loan—will shave their heads for charity on Monday, March 15. They’ll be at de Vere’s Irish Pub for the St. Baldrick’s fundraiser, an annual event that raises money for childhood cancer research. Among those expected to participate are cooks and other staffers from The Kitchen, Tuli Bistro, The Waterboy, Kru, MIX Downtown, Shady Lady Saloon and de Vere’s. Henry de Vere White, one of the owners of de Vere’s, is growing his hair out for the event. “I’m bald, but I’ve been growing what’s left of the wraparound for the last month,” he said. “I can’t wait to shave it off.” Local restaurants will field teams of people willing to give up their hair for the cause. Money will come in the form of donations to the teams. The festivities start at 5 p.m. For more information, to sign up for a team or to donate, go to http://www.deverespub.com/stbaldricksday/
