Leatherby’s Meal Deal

I swung by Leatherby’s on Arden Way on Fourth of July. I was craving their chicken strips. Yes, I know Leatherby’s is known for ice cream—and rightfully so—but their food is pretty good, too. Especially the chicken strips. Of course, we were at Leatherby’s, so how could I resist getting ice cream, too? Leatherby’s has great meal deals where you can get a burger, sandwich or the above-mentioned chicken strips along with a sundae, shake or dish of ice cream. The prices range from $8.99 to $11.99. I opted for the triple chocolate shake. Since it was Fourth of July, Leatherby’s colored their homemade whipped cream a patriotic blue—but for some reason, they didn’t put a dollop on top of my shake (instead, the traditional white-colored whipped cream was mixed into the shake). Much to the amusement of my dining companion, David, I asked our server, Chad, if I could have some blue whipped cream. He obliged without batting an eye—and he didn’t charge me extra for it. Good food and friendly service. What more could one ask for? Stop by Leatherby’s during these dog days of summer. The whipped cream won’t be blue, but it’ll still be tasty. And the hours? You can’t beat ’em: Sunday–Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight.
Leatherby’s is located at 2333 Arden Way and the phone number is (916) 920-8382. I’d like to give you a website, but it was under redesign and I really wanted to tell you about the Fourth of July whipped cream.
