Penny-pincher alert: Groupon has finally made its way to Sacramento. The company—already in Chicago, Boston, New York, L.A. and more than 40 other cities—offers “group coupon” deals at restaurants and other local businesses. How it works: Every day Groupon offers a new deal that’s valid only if a certain number of people sign up by the end of the day. Yesterday’s deal was a $25 coupon at Queen Sheba restaurant on Broadway for $10; 20 people were needed to sign up. Groupon operates on the premise of collective buying power. “By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won’t find anywhere else,” it says.
