Grapevines at Home: Reap the Benefits

1418

My friend Ingrid is lucky enough to have a vineyard planted around her house in Granite Bay. The Primitivo grapevines not only provide a unique, beautiful “fence” on her property, they also yield cases of robust, spicy, jammy red wine which she’s able to share with friends throughout the year. Every fall, her extended family shows up to pick all the grapes – including grandson T.J. (Thomas John), who the family is grooming to take over the winemaking duties in, er, about 21 years.
