Farmers' Market Faves

Farmers’ markets – overflowing with gorgeously fresh, locally-grown produce – also offer shoppers a raft of other interesting agricultural products. From cheese and fragrant lavender oil to wine, fish and freshly-laid eggs, there’s often an exciting array of choices. Two of my favorite purchases at the downtown Sunday farmers’ market (8am to noon at the state parking lot under the freeway, 8th and W streets) are beekeeper Frank Lienert’s luscious honeys (don’t miss the delicately flavored “local wildflower” honey); and farmer John Bledsoe’s thick, delicious bacon.
