If you’re craving an interesting dining experience this weekend, check out Famous Kabob on Fulton Avenue. Located in a shabby strip mall, the restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside – but it has a surprisingly elegant interior, with nattily-attired waitstaff, a pretty chandelier and cozy booth seating. The air is fragrant with enticing baking smells – Famous Kabob’s taftoon, a delicious flatbread, is made by hand (and baked) at the front of the restaurant. Kabobs are obviously the starring attraction at this friendly eatery, served with fluffy basmati rice and grilled tomatoes: don’t miss the kabob barg, skewers of marinated filet mignon. Another fabulous specialty is the tender, aromatic zereshk polo, braised chicken in a tomato saffron sauce.
