Catch the Halloween Spirit at Shady Lady Saloon

Clearly, Halloween isn’t just for kids – I visited Shady Lady Saloon this Sunday for brunch, and was delighted with the restaurant/lounge’s creative, creepy decorations. Coffee-dipped, torn cheesecloth “cobwebs” adorned chandeliers and pictures; and ghoulish masks leered at us as we relished the kitchen’s fantastic Eggs Benedict – served with a feisty lemon-chile hollandaise sauce, piled atop delicate challah bread – and the pastrami Reuben, one of my very favorite versions of this classic sandwich to be found in the region.
