I finally had a chance to stop by Bangkok@12, the restaurant which replaced long-time Sacramento foodie favorite Amarin Thai Cuisine. The place has been spruced up with new flooring and a bright new coat of paint, but the menu looks much the same (and is still mind-bogglingly lengthy) – and the staff was warm and welcoming. A stir-fried pad prig khing – green beans and julienned bell peppers in a spicy chili paste (I chose pork as the meat component) – was vivacious and tasty; and a creamy vegetarian dish with chunks of tofu and lovely fresh vegetables in a creamy yellow curry sauce was another winner.
