A Slow Field Trip to UC Davis

Slow Food Yolo is offering an intriguing field trip for local foodies on February 25th. Called “What’s Cooking in the UC Davis Library,” the event will feature a tour of rare books and manuscripts relating to food and wine in the special collections department at the UC Davis general library. Attendees will see books from the Pond/Hertzman Chinese cookbook collection (one of the largest collections of Chinese cookbooks in English held by an institution); and other interesting items such as early books on wine, cocktails and home management; seed catalogs from the late nineteenth century; and old menus and dinner invitations.
