I had the pleasure of sampling Filipino “Senorita Bread” this weekend at StarBread Bakery in South Sacramento. These airy, delicate rolls, filled with melted butter and sugar, could be the Filipino equivalent of a Krispy Kreme doughnut – I was told by StarBread customers that they get regular (and desperate) cravings for the pillowy, irresistible snacks. The bakery sells them warm, and my advice is to gobble the palm-sized rolls as soon as you purchase them (don’t forget napkins – you’ll soon have butter shellacking your fingers). Alternatively, you can take the rolls home and reheat them in the oven or microwave. Note: StarBread also sells an array of other Filipino baked goods and nibbles.
