It looks like the sun may be peeking out again soon – just in time for A Day on the Farm, occurring this Sunday, May 22nd. Hosted by Soil Born Farms, this wonderful outdoor celebration will feature an event-packed day which includes cooking classes, agricultural workshops (Raising Chickens! Backyard Orchards! Bees, Pollination and Honey!), fun kids’ activities and even a screening of the public television series “Kiss the Cook and the Farmer Too,” followed by a discussion with creator Tom Weidlinger. Everyone is sure to enjoy the family folk dancing, which will take place in Soil Born’s barn; and ramblers will want to sign up for the American River walk with Warren Truitt, president of Save the American River Association.
The event runs from 10am – 4pm at Soil Born Farms’ American River Ranch, next to Hagan Park in Rancho Cordova. The suggested donation for attending is $5.
