The 916: Rediscover the Sky

1971

Sacramento City College’s Hulbe Observatory received a major upgrade earlier this year in the form of a new, $40,000, high-tech telescope complete with carbon fiber and 3D-printed accessories. Supervised access to the observatory and telescope is open and free to the public the first Friday of the month from September to May, with the exception of January. The best way to observe for free is to show up outside of Rodda Hall South at SCC’s main campus on nights of observation between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., depending on the month.
