The 916: Poolside Style

Swimwear that’s both sultry and sophisticatedthat’s what designer Mary Moehring had in mind when she launched Amoirai, a high-end line of women’s one-piece swimsuits with sexy detailing like side cutouts, open backs and peekaboo mesh. Priced from $150 to $275, these are suits for the club or resort, not the muni pool. They’re fully lined, and Moehring sources the fabrics from an Italian manufacturer. Some are blinged out with rhinestone jewelry and metal hardware. Others are demure, with high necks and tailored zippered fronts. “I believe there’s a suit for every occasion from portside to poolside,” says Moehring, who lives in Gold River. “The suit you wear to your girlfriend’s bachelorette party isn’t the suit you’ll wear in the South of France with your in-laws.” The suits are available online, and this summer they’ll be sold at a boutique in Ibiza, Spain.
