Brass & Oak brings high style to Placerville.
One fully gutted building. Four furniture vignettes styled and staged. Eight hundred fabric samples folded and arranged. Seven different patterns of wallpapers meticulously hung. Countless throw pillows, vintage runners and housewares merchandised with care. And it all happened in just about 40 days. “If you give me a deadline, I won’t miss it,” says interior designer Molly Fitzpatrick, owner of Brass & Oak. Fitzpatrick, who also owns Molly Erin Designs, recently transformed the one modern building on Placerville’s Main Street into a retail store showcasing her favorite lines of furnishings, textiles, lighting, décor and accessories. Styles range from modern mountain to midcentury modern. “Brass & Oak tells the story of the store,” says Fitzpatrick. “Oak represents my country roots. Brass represents the shiny, city-life aesthetic that I love, too.” From couches to candles, mirrors to measuring cups, Brass & Oak offers a variety of ways for shoppers to spruce up their spaces. “There are so many amazing shops, cafes and restaurants around us, so I wanted to cater to the historic foot traffic we have here and make sure there’s something for everyone,” she says.
