This Saturday (Oct. 23), Ginger Elizabeth Patisserie will sell croissants slathered with freshly shaved French truffles to raise money for the Sacramento Tree Foundation. Proprietor Ginger Elizabeth Hahn herself will be shaving truffles onto freshly baked potato-cheese croissants. Each one will cost a cool $25, and only 100 will be sold. All proceeds go to the Tree Foundation to help maintain Sacramento’s urban forest.
The patisserie opens at 8 a.m. Better get there early if you want one of the truffle-icious confections. 2413 J St.; (916) 706-1738; gingerelizabeth.com
