Three Things to Do Thanksgiving Weekend: Drink, Dance, Laugh

1621

Thanksgiving has turned into to a pretty intense party weekend. What better time to catch up with old friend in from out-of-town, or dance the night away to work off Auntie Nina’s stuffing. Here are a few suggestions to keep your party weekend flowing.

THURSDAY: Opening up at 8 p.m., Streets of London on J and 18th streets in midtown is having a special Thanksgiving night party—drink specials, giveaways and guaranteed shenanigans—British style. Wash down your turkey with a few pints of brew from across the pond you’ll probably wind up running into about a dozen people you know.

FRIDAY: Spazmatics are playing Friday night at 9:30 p.m. at Powerhouse Pub in Folsom. My first exposure to the band happened last week at the Best of Sacramento party. I dug their Revenge of the Nerds attire and high-energy, tongue-in-cheek ’80s pop. With pants hiked up and instruments tuned up, they’re bound to have the whole room rocking out in no time. A great antidote to Black Friday. ($12 cover charge.)

SATURDAY: Brent Weinbach brings “purely absurd” and “maniacally funny” stand-up at the Sacramento Comedy Spot at the Marrs Building in Midtown at 8 p.m. His act is unique, character-driven, and totally original. Purchase tickets online for $10.
