I elbowed my way in to the new Pizza Rock last night, marveling at the crowds on an early Thursday evening. The narrow, dim space (which features a flame-emblazoned truck cab bursting through a wall and a comical rendition of Michelangelo’s ceiling mural “The Creation of Adam) is dauntingly loud, but there’s a palpable sense of festivity in the air and the pizza is darned good. My advice – don’t miss the marvelous (and award-winning) Margherita pizza, generously swabbed with a lively San Marzano tomato sauce and dotted with chewy, delicious rounds of Fior di Latte mozzarella.
