The Sacramento SPCA Doggy Dash has become somewhat of a tradition for area animal lovers. The 2K and 5K walk, taking place in William Land Park June 4, raises funds to help homeless animals by benefiting the Sacramento Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Did we mention that it’s also a good time and a good opportunity for you and your dog to get a little fresh air and exercise? Does Spot like to sleep in on Saturday mornings? No prob. Solo two-legged participants are welcome.
After the walk, which kicks off at 9 a.m., enjoy the Bark in the Park Festival, which will include pug races, an array of pet-friendly businesses, even a chance to enter your pal in a contest (“Best Kisser,” anyone?).
Online registration closes June 2, but you can register the morning of the event starting at 7:30 a.m.
