Dave’s Pumpkin Patch: More Than Just Pumpkins

As of Sept. 25, Dave’s Pumpkin Patch in West Sacramento has been open to the public, but since we’re nearing Halloween, it’s the perfect time to cruise on over. And this place is much more than just a place to get your pumpkins to carve up! It’s got hayrides, a hay maze, pony rides, pig races, a petting zoo, a corn maze, and lots of other stuff for the kiddies—and adults! (Truth is, I wanna go—I’m hoping my hubby wants to join me, especially for the “Punkin Chunkin,” where they shoot pumpkins out of a cannon every hour on the weekends. How fun!) And believe it or not, there’s more: On Oct. 15 from 7 p.m. to close, Dave’s is showing two movies: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Monster House. Then on Halloween from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the patch is hosting trick or treating (probably best to assume that’s just for the kiddies). You can buy tickets just for the corn maze ($4–$6 depending on age), or you can buy all-day tickets for everything Dave’s has to offer for just $10. Sounds like a no-brainer to me. Get ’em here, then head over from 10 a.m. to dusk, Sunday through Thursday, or Friday or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Maybe I’ll see you there!
