Downtown Commons will launch a new outdoor dining “experience” starting today (Sept. 3).
DOCO Al Fresco will feature 60 socially distanced tables that can seat about 170 people on the main plaza surrounding Golden 1 Center. Diners will be able to order from six DOCO restaurants and bars, including Echo & Rig, Polanco Cantina, Sauced BBQ & Spirits, Yard House, Tahoe Blue Ridge Bar and Local Eats at Golden 1 Center (the arena’s food vendor).
Seated diners will scan a QR code from a mobile phone to see pull-down menus from the six businesses. They can order from more than one restaurant, no matter where they sit on the plaza, and will receive one check. Payment is through a contactless system that includes Apple Pay, Google Pay and credit/debit cards.
DOCO Al Fresco is the city’s newest large-scale outdoor dining venue. Since indoor dining was halted due to the pandemic, numerous city sidewalks, streets and parking lots have been turned into open-air restaurants, beer gardens and food halls.
DOCO Al Fresco will be open for business 4–9 p.m. Monday–Thursday, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Friday–Saturday and 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Sunday. Reservations are encouraged. To reserve a table, go to DOCOSacramento.com/AlFresco. A portion of the proceeds from DOCO Al Fresco will go to the American Red Cross for its California wildfire relief efforts.
