Odds are you’ll be getting more than a few offers this week to attend one of the biggest, best, glitziest, craziest, hippest, New Year’s Eve celebrations in town. There will be promises of beautiful people, sexy dancing and killer cocktails.
However, if you, like me, are just getting over the “cold of the century,” you might be looking for a slightly more laid-back event at which to toast the turning of the calendar. I suggest the Fox and Goose Pub and Restaurant. The celebration at the Goose will offer favorite local musicians like Richard March, The Inversions and several other acts. There’s no cover and the fanciest cocktail you’re likely to find is a gin and tonic, or a pint of fine English ale. Snacks will be provided, and the company is almost guaranteed to be warm and friendly. The party gets started at 8 p.m.
