For the next two weekends, El Dorado County will be rolling out the red carpet for all local wine lovers. Passport Weekend 2010 will feature special wine samplings, barrel tastings, food pairings, art and music. This year, more than 25 different wineries will be putting on the dog for their special weekend guests.
If you haven’t had the chance to really explore the wineries of El Dorado County, take this opportunity to see what’s going on right up the hill. My favorites include the warm welcome and heavy reds of Boeger Winery, the exceedingly well-priced wines of Latcham Vineyards, and the gorgeous view and cold Guinness at Fitzpatrick Winery and Lodge.
