Kidding aside, treat yourself to a weekend-long “staycation” at the Sixth Annual Wine and Cheese Faire hosted by the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg Aug. 8–9.
The Old Sugar Mill (which is exactly what it sounds like: a beautifully renovated sugar mill) is a unique home to a community of 11 of California’s finest wineries, including Heringer Estates Family Vineyards, Carvalho Family Winery and Elevation Ten, to name a few.
Tickets to the event include a tasting glass for complimentary tastings at all 11 wineries and a bag to carry all of your cheese and wine goodies. The event will feature cheese and wine pairing classes, live music, and “gourmet vinegars, oils, nuts, spreads, jams, jellies, honey and wine,” made by local artisan vendors, according to the website.
