A couple of years ago, I had the chance to see someone I know perform in Imagination Theater’s production of Man of La Mancha.
It was great to see John—a casual acquaintance whom I know from the gym—perform. But it was also great to check out IT, an intimate 180-seat theater on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville. We had great front-row seats for Man of La Mancha, though it looked like most, if not all, of the seats in the theater were good. And the show and the trip to Placerville were a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of Sacramento.
John is performing again this time in Irving Berlin’s classic, White Christmas. It’s sure to be good; I know he was gearing up to audition as early as this past spring. Even if you don’t know anyone performing in the show, a trip to Imagination Theater to see this holiday show will boost your holiday spirit. Before or after, trek over to nearby downtown Placerville for coffee or some lunch/dinner and some shopping.
IT’s White Christmas runs through Dec. 23. Tickets are $17, with discounts for seniors or students.
