Do you have the urge to purchase artwork? If so, consider attending the Verge Fair. The three-day art market starts Friday, May 20 at the downtown venue (625 S St.)

The fair is “designed to build a bridge between artists and art lovers,” Verge Center for the Arts reports. The festivities kick off with a Preview Night Party on Thursday, May 19, with tickets (available online) $25 for individuals or $40 for two. Sponsorship opportunities will allow you to help even more.

Call (916) 448-2985 to learn details about Thursday’s party, where you can “be the first to shop our bespoke retail space, experience one of a kind interactive art experiences, receive Verge swag, enjoy artful bites, drinks, and listen to music provided by DJ Shaun Slaughter.”

Later this month, on May 28 and 29, Verge is offering its next workshop. Here’s how the organization describes the session, for which registration is $145:

“Lithography II takes a deeper dive into the world of printing from stones. This course is designed for students continuing on from Lithography I, or those who have some experience with lithography and desire more.

“In this class students will learn how to print multiple color lithographs using registration techniques to align the paper in the same position every print. We will explore options for printing from aluminum plates, incorporating digital imagery, as well as using advanced drawing materials such as the tusche wash.”

All materials are included; participants must already have enrolled in Lithography I or have preview stone lithography experience.
