Looking for an out of the box way to celebrate Valentine’s Day this Sunday? Hit up “Prom Night 1988—Celebrate Valentine’s Day the 80s Way,” benefiting Westlake Charter School, an elementary school that teaches International Primary Curriculum. Open to couples and singles, the event—which includes dinner and dancing—takes place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Four Points by Sheraton Sacramento International Airport. Tuxes and prom dresses are not required to attend this prom, but your raddest eighties get-up is a must. So break out those leg warmers and flip up the collar on that ol’ Izod shirt. Take it a step further by getting an 80s ’do at Kevin Michael Salon at (916) 448-5040. A live DJ will spin tunes from Wham!, Madonna, Depeche Mode and the like, while a photographer will be on hand to capture the memories.
Tickets are $150 per couple or $88 per person, but don’t delay: You must purchase them by Feb. 11 at noon by calling (916) 567-5760 or e-mailing Lisa Corr at lcorr@mymlaw.com. You can use that same contact info to pre-order those all-important corsages or boutonnieres (a limited number will be for sale at the prom) and e-mail your own prom pics for a slideshow to be shown at the event.
