We’re not talking summer nights, but Harris Center for the Arts is hopelessly devoted to your entertainment needs as it presents “Grease, The Musical” Feb. 16–19 in Folsom.
The high-spirited, 1950s-based show will be presented six times during the four-day run: at 7:30 every night, and also at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 18–19).
“After a whirlwind summer romance, leather-clad greaser Danny and girl-next-door Sandy are unexpectedly reunited when she transfers to Rydell High for senior year,” Harris Center says in promoting the show. “But can they survive the trials and tribulations of teenage life and find true love once more? Bursting with hits including ‘Summer Nights,’ ‘Greased Lightnin’,’ ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You,’ and ‘You’re the One That I Want,’ this exciting new production reignites the energy and joy of the show for a new generation.”
Tickets are $67–$117 and can be purchased online or by calling the box office, which is open Tuesday–Friday from noon to 5 p.m., at (916) 608-6888.
Also in Folsom, but with less glitz, Sutter Street Theater (717 Sutter St.) is presenting “Alice in Wonderland” at 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, Jan. 28 through Feb. 26.
“Follow Alice down the rabbit hole in this exciting adventure full of strange and fantastic characters,” Sutter Street says. “As Alice makes her way through the Tulgey Wood, she quickly meets characters such as the White Rabbit and Queen of Hearts.”
