Have you heard the latest from Capital Stage? The midtown-based theater company is presenting “The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley—A Radio Play,” available from Tuesday, Dec. 22 through New Year’s Day.
And you can listen to it for free!
The on-demand, online performance is a audial adaptation of the “Christmas at Pemberley” series by Lauren Gunderson (“the most produced playwright in America of 2017, 2019, and the second-most in 2018,” Cap Stage reports) and Margot Melcon (“the literary manager and dramaturg at Marin Theatre Company”).
“The Wickhams” radio play, Cap Stage says, “takes us downstairs on an auditory storytelling adventure where servants are bustling with the arrival of holiday guests. In the warmth of the Darcy kitchen, family secrets are revealed and loyalties are tested. A bright and joyous holiday tale full of your favorite Jane Austen characters, and the power of giving back to others.”
The cast from last year’s premiere presentation returns: Brittni Barger, Melissa Brausch, Kate Morton, Stephanie McVay, Colin Sphar, Rob Salas, Elyse Sharp and Noah Thompson. Peter Mohrmann, who co-founded the theater company and has a long list of regional acting appearances, directs.
