Think you’re funny? Friends say you always make them laugh? Hone your comedy chops at an improv class at the Sacramento Comedy Spot in the Marrs building at 20th and J streets. The class teaches an improv style used by many top comedians, including Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Paul Rust and Will Ferrell. According to the class description, you’ll learn how to “find the game of the scene, establish a solid foundation, accept and build on other players ideas, and be encouraged to play at the top of your intelligence.”
The Improv 1 class is perfect for those who want to perform at the Comedy Spot or just have some fun. It takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday and Thursday, and costs $10 per class or $19 for a monthly membership. No registration is required—drop in any time!
