If you’re looking for a family-friendly event to celebrate the days leading up to Halloween, then be sure to visit “The Mansion After Dark,” at the Governor’s Mansion State Historic Park. The mansion will be made over so guests can see it in a completely new light. The mood will be set with spooky music, dim lighting, darkened rooms and even “coffin corners.”
Attendees can wander throughout the mansion with guidance of costumed characters and storytellers who will tell tales of the lives of past governors. Fortune-tellers will be on hand to share intriguing predictions with any guests who dare listen.
The haunted walk through times will be held on Saturdays Oct. 22 and 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. The Governor’s Mansion is at 16th and H streets.
