The Art of Beer Invitational

Sacramento just cannot get enough of craft beers. Not that anyone’s really complaining about the trend. With fantastic breweries like Track 7, Rubicon and New Helvetia putting us on the beer-map, craft brewing is something to celebrate in this town. It’s no surprise, then, that we’ve got another fantastic beer festival coming around the corner. The Art of Beer Invitational on Jan. 24 is bringing together 30 of the best craft breweries from not just California but from the entire country. Breweries such as Lost Coast, Heretic and Drake’s will be serving up some of their best brews alongside food pairings, live music and several art installations. The art includes 30 distinct art pieces and four beer art lounges. What’s a beer art lounge? Ninkasi, 21st Amendment, Sierra Nevada and Firestone Walker breweries have each been given a 10-by-10-foot space to decorate in a way that expresses their brewery and creative vision. Grab one of their beers and see what they come up with before hitting the silent auction that benefits autism research as part of Ales for Autism.

If you’re not a beer person but have a beer-loving bud who wants to try out some rare craft beers, no worries. The Invitational features three cider breweries (OK, that’s still technically beer) and offers free all-natural Joia Sodas and water for designated drivers. For more information, see here.
