Launch Fest is back this year, and it’s bigger, better and more mature. Gone is the fledgling festival of years past; now the weekend music marathon is back under a new name, at a new location, and with a way more A-list lineup than ever before. TBD (named after it’s location, To Be Determined/The Bridge District) Fest will be taking over the River Walk in West Sacramento. Organizers are expecting 10,000 attendees per day of the festival, which runs from Friday, Oct. 3 to Sunday, Oct. 5. Music aficionados are going to be stretched thin trying to catch every good act over the weekend. The festival’s lineup, after all, features headliners Blondie, Justice, Moby, Empire of the Sun, Explosions in the Sky and Dillon Francis. And that’s to say nothing of the smaller acts that’ll be queuing up. Among the too-many-good-musicians-to-list, Danny Brown, Kurt Vile, Yachts, Gramatik, Com Truise, Ms Mr, Deltron 3030 and The Drums will all be making appearances as well. Sacramento is fast becoming a music city, and this festival is helping cement our reputation as a destination for live music and creativity.
