When Susan Boyle first toddled onto the stage of Britain’s Got Talent, no one could have expected what happened next. The dowdy-looking amateur singer had barely gotten three notes into the “Les Miserables” ballad “I Dreamed a Dream” before the audience erupted into a standing ovation; Boyle’s voice was Broadway-quality and angelic. Her powerful mezzo-soprano voice carried her through the competition and got her to second place, though in the court of public opinion, she was that season’s clear winner. Her first album, released in 2009, became the UK’s best selling debut album of all time. Now on her third album, she has just wrapped up the UK stage of her first solo concert tour, and is taking the tour worldwide. On Sunday, Oct. 12, Boyle will be making a stop at the Sacramento Community Center Theater to fill the room with her soaring, expressive voice. Catch this worldwide phenomenon on her historic first tour. For more information, see here.
